Christmas Review

It was another wonderful year for The Old Bridge Inn & Coffee House signed off by an amazing festive period. From the excitement and atmosphere of the Christmas Light Switch On to the Christmas Day meal and beyond it was a pleasure to welcome so many new and familiar faces to the Inn.

Below are a number of reviews taken from TripAdvisor from the festive period.

Christmas Day Lunch 2015

"Excellent food and service. Was made to feel really welcome. Staff were very attentive. Gifts on table were nice touch. Would recommend to anyone considering going for Christmas lunch. Thanks to all the staff."

Party Night

"It was my second visit to the old bridge inn, and it was just as enjoyable as the first time I stayed there .the staff are very friendly and helpful ,the food is excellent but the price might not be to everybody's taste .the rooms are clean and tidy [maybe in need of a little updating ] but would recommend the hotel to anybody. I and some friends have already booked to stay again next year."

Didn't Want To Leave

"We stayed after a great night at the Picturedrome and just didn't want to leave. We had dinner here and the food was superb. Everything is fresh and beautifully presented. The rooms were so comfortable with easily adjusted heating and Constant hot water. The breakfast was so good and the plate was still hot when I had finished. Will certainly be back."

History

Holmfirth History 2     Holmfirth History 1     Holmfirth History 3

Holmfirth is a Pennine town not far from Huddersfield. Although it is now renowned worldwide as the home of the BBC's long-running TV series The Last of the Summer Wine, it also has a great deal history and heritage.

The area boasts picturesque and often dramatic hillside and moor views. For walkers young and old, there is the Pennine Way which passes right through Holmfirth and to the West.

Restored to its 1913 former glory, the Picturedrome sits just next door to us and has hosted some of the biggest names in music and live entertainment, including Sophie Ellis-Bexter, The South & Rival Sons. Find about about their latest events by clicking here.

An unmissable date in the Holmfirth calendar is the Holmfirth Festival of Folk which has been an annual event in May since 1978 and continues to grow and strengthen every year.
